Hindu Beliefs
Hinduism is a very old religion, so old that Hinduism started even before recorded history. It wasn't founded by one person, but developed slowly over some period of time. In the second millennium B.C.E., a group of people called the Aryans migrated to northern India. They are credited in bringing essential elements to begin Hinduism. Early Hinduism is called Vedism, which is named after the Vedas. The Vedas are a collection of holy and sacred scripts and texts like verses, hymns, prayers, and teachings which are written in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is an ancient language of India. In Sanskrit, Veda means "knowledge". A connection of the caste system to the modern world is that the caste system cannot be changed. Indians were born with a caste system and they cannot change it. As time went by, the caste system is being turned politically instead of religiously. This has been since India gained independence. That is my connection to the modern world for the caste system.
